I have to say that staying motivated is an art I haven’t completely nailed down yet but little by little…I’m getting there and doing what I need to do to stay focused on my dreams and the plans God has placed in my heart for my life. Today, I’m going to share a bit of what I do to stay motivated and hopefully this will help you if you’re in need of a little push to get going on your hustle. Scroll on down… 🙂
Take time off from your regular routine – this is to give yourself a chance to feel more in control of your life again. Whether you’re a young professional or a student, we most often times do the same thing day after day and it can become quite daunting. I love taking a day or two off from my regular routine and just pretend I work for myself and spend the day doing things that I actually enjoy doing, like: go to the gym, have a good and healthy sit-down breakfast, watch a preaching and work on my blog. A day or two of doing this and my creative juices are flowing, I’m full of energy and my productivity levels skyrocket.
Talk it out with someone who knows you and what you really want to do – since I tend to procrastinate a lot when it comes to my career, I love talking things out with my husband; he’s good at gently and patiently reminding me of what I really love, care about and want to do with my life. He reassures me that my passion is what I should follow and leave the rest up to God. Find that person in your life who’s an effective listener, who you trust and who will tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear.
Find great sources of inspiration – there are a few amazing #GirlBosses out there that I really love and I make sure to keep up with them and what they’re up to as well as look into their success stories to keep me motivated and excited to launch my own business and keep going with my blog. It’s just nice to see regular, everyday people who have followed their dreams and made them a reality. P.S. Don’t confuse this with envying others or wanting to copy another entrepreneur but rather as a way of allowing yourself to see that the impossible is possible if you just work hard and believe in yourself. (so cheesy…I know lol.)
That’s it but that’s plenty to get you going…honestly, it’s not about having a trillion steps but about having a few simple yet efficient steps that will get you back on the right path.
Stay tuned for my next post!
