Beginner Makeup Kit | Simple Essentials
I started getting into makeup about two years ago; I can’t remember who I started following on Youtube, I think it was Dulce Candy but one video led to the other and I was HOOKED. Unfortunately, I was following people who had been doing makeup for YEARS and I spent way too much money not knowing what I really needed, what kind of makeup looks I really liked and ultimately, what my makeup style really was. I thought I needed everything! Fast forward to two years later, I love makeup but I’m not down to hoard tons of products or beat my face on a daily basis. That’s just not me. I wish I did a bit more research back then, maybe it would have saved me a dollar or two so here I am today, happy to help someone out who’s new to the makeup ‘scene’.
I’m listing a mix of high-end and drugstore makeup products that I love because I really recommend investing in products you’re going to like so they don’t end up in the trash a week later. Cheaper doesn’t always mean better so take your time when putting together your makeup kit, you’ll be happy you did! Some products like a foundation or a setting powder which can make or break your makeup look are worth spending a bit more on whereas a mascara, eyeliner or a concealer can be purchased at the drugstore. There’s PLENTY to choose from.
To all you newbie makeup lovers, here’s a helpful ‘Beginner Makeup Kit’ guide featuring simple essentials to help you get started on your makeup journey. 🙂

*You don’t need to purchase all these products, pick and choose what works for you.
Makeup is supposed to be fun and serve as a beauty enhancer, keyword: enhancer; I really don’t think you should rely on makeup to make you feel beautiful. (Future post coming on this)
It’s easy to get caught up in the makeup hype nowadays but take the time to get to know your skin, your style and what makes you feel beautiful as with anything else in life.
How do you feel about makeup? Any essential items I’ve missed? Any items you would swap out?
Stay tuned for my next post.
