This weekend was filled with trying new things and I haven’t had this much fun in a while! I promised myself I would force myself to get out there this Winter and do more instead of watching the days and time go by and I’ve started doing just that. I’m already noticing a huge difference in my mood and my mental health! Somehow I forgot that although I enjoy being at home from time to time I need to be out and about, there’s nothing more refreshing for me than trying new things, venturing off to new places and being a tourist in my own city.
I started the weekend by visiting the most beautiful café called Headquarters Ottawa; it’s a hair salon on one side and a café on the other and let me tell you, with the amount of natural light and trendy/modern décor this place is BLOGGER HEAVEN…not to mention the coffee and pastries are absolutely delicious! I love discovering new local spots in Ottawa because I really do think this city is beautiful and I’ve been noticing that more and more entrepreneurs are taking the leap and creating really cool and innovative hot spots which I think we really need here.
Saturday evening I took my husband on a date night to Altitude Gym to try out their Ninja Warrior obstacle course…it was SO much fun! The obstacles look easy but they’re actually very difficult lol! This place is a great date night idea if you want to get active and have fun at the same time and it’s also a great activity to do with a group of friends. Check out this video of me desperately trying to leap from one balloon bag to the other…I swear I really am athletic!
We ended Saturday evening by helping my mother-in-law bake cupcakes for my friend’s baby shower on Sunday! And on Sunday, after the baby shower we spent the evening relaxing and getting “mind-ready” for the work week ahead.
All in all, I spent more time out and about than at home this weekend and it felt great! Don’t get me wrong, I do love being at home buried under my blankets watching Disney movies or prison documentaries but my heart loves exploring! I’ve been wanting to start a “Coffee Chat” type of series on the blog to create a dedicated space for my readers to ask me questions and for me to talk about some of the things that have been on my mind. If you have any questions, you can comment down below or DM me on Instagram and I’ll be answering them on my monthly “Coffee Chat” posts. 🙂
