DIY Flower Arrangement | Add some POP to your workspace!

Salut, mes amours! / Hi, my loves!

Today on my blog, I’m helping you add some POP to your workspace! Well, you can easily use this DIY Flower Arrangement in your living room, kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. Personally, I love red roses! I’m obsessed with them. I love how vibrant they are, they smell terrific and they ALWAYS put me in a great mood.

There are so many things you can do to brighten up your day and this is a quick and EASY project that will add a bit of pizzazz to your home decor. All you need are some artificial red roses or any flower of your choosing, a flower vase or plant pot…and that is IT. Check it out!

  1. You’ll need 6-8 single stem artificial red roses or any of your favourite flowers. You can use as many as you want, it all depends on the look you’re going for. I got these beautiful artificial red roses from Michaels
  2. You’ll need a flower vase or plant pot. I got a white ceramic plant pot simply because I wanted to make sure the redness of my roses really stood out. Check out your local IKEA store for a flower vase/plant pot, they’re very affordable! Similar one here.
  3. Grab a rose/flower and bend the end of the stem inwards; if you have a shorter flower vase/plant pot like I do, bending the stem is much easier than having to cut it down. If you’re using a taller flower vase/plant pot then you can probably skip this step.
  4. Repeat #3 for all of your roses/flowers and group them all together.
  5. Grab all of your roses/flowers and place them inside your flower vase/plant pot.

This is the final look! How easy was that?

I love how full my Michaels red roses are! They look so lovely. 🙂

This DIY Flower Arrangement adds such a beautiful pop of colour to my desk and it makes me feel excited to get work! Ahh…it’s the little and simple things that really matter, right?

If you get a chance to recreate this or something similar, I’d LOVE to see it. Tweet me or tag me on Instagram, @amandasimplice.

Better Late Than Never…

Salut, mes amours! / Hi, my loves!

WOW, I’ve been wanting to launch this project for over five years…CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? FIVE. YEARS. I’ve had a long list of reasons why I couldn’t and why it wasn’t the right time as you can expect and I’ll definitely get into all that in one of my “How to DO and not SAY” series. Stay tuned for it 🙂

As for today, I simply wanted to introduce myself to you. My name is Amanda Simplice, I’m a 20-something year old Haitian-Canadian, communications professional, coffee obsessed, giggle maniac, lover of people. How’s that for a grammatically incorrect run-on sentence? Ha.

Welcome to “The Simple Life by Amanda Simplice”. This is my secret (public) garden of freedom; where I can express myself, talk about the things I love, the things I dislike and share my simple living tips and tricks.

You’re not a morning person and you want to know how to get that extra 15 minutes of sleep without getting to work/school looking like you just rolled out of bed even if you did? Igotchu. You want to know how to stay healthy and active but you’re not into the whole “spend 88 hours at the gym every second of your life”? (Did that even make sense?) Don’t worry, Igotchu. Love fashion and beauty but you just can’t wrap your head around spending your rent or tuition money on clothes and/or makeup but you still want to look stylish? Igotchu.

I’ve come a long way to get to where I am; life can be unnecessarily stressful and complicated at times and it’s so easy to get caught up in all the negativity. I’ve been through it, over it and under it. I’m finally at a place where I’m comfortable with myself and keeping my life free of stress and worry. Thank you, Jesus! 2017 is going to be a crazy but fun year and I’m looking forward to taking you along for the ride. If you’ve made it this far, I can already tell we’re going to get to know each other very well. 🙂

Stay tuned for my next post!
